IWC Charity Bazaar 2008

Gosh...what a busy month this has been!! I have been volunteering for the IWC Charity Bazaar and have met some amazing ladies...wonderfully talented and sweet souls...I hope to feature one of the them soon. So do check back in June 2009 to see some amazing artists. Here are a few things I created for the IWC Charity Bazaar this year. I wish I had known sooner so I could have joined a few months earlier and made many more things for charity. Oh well, better luck next time I guess!

Made 75 of these in packs of 5 each.

And made 25 of these in packs of 5 each. I used loads of I-Kan-Dee Pearlescent chalks and some glitter too for all the cards but it doesn't show too well in the photos!

If you would like to know how I made the Christmas tree calender, let me know. I can put a tutorial up.

Have a Great Weekend!

Surprise!

Hello everybody! Hope you have had a wonderful weekend! When I picked up my parcel from the post office today, I was surprised. It wasn’t the parcel from UK …the one I had ordered more than a month ago…and have been expecting for ages!Instead it was my precious stash all the way from Two Peas! I was surprised because it was only three days ago that I had ordered it online. To say I’m impressed is an understatement! You rock, Two Peas! Here’s the yummy, new stash from TwoPeas:

Anyways, I couldn’t wait to get home and feast my eyes on the new stash. So here I am, sitting on the floor with my new stash spread around me, caressing and drooling over every tiny bit (with a bit of paper sniffing going on) when suddenly my friend walks in through the door! I felt like an idiot! Blush...Blush!! She was sweet about it though. (She has no clue of scrapbooking and craft supplies!) But I won’t be surprised if I don’t see her around for a while! ;-)
Here’s what I made from my new stash:

I just looo...ove these patterned papers from Imaginisce! The flower embellishment I made by layering a piece of felt embellished with stitches and a paper bloom . I topped it with a button I made by stamping into air drying clay and rubbing with metallic paints. The sentiment on the card says ‘Thanks…’ And when the card is opened, the sentiment inside says ,"...for opening my heart up"

Thanks for looking!

FIVE WAYS TO GET WIRED !

While reorganizing my stash a few weeks ago, I stumbled across some gorgeous wires I bought some time back. And ever since, I have been using them on my LOs and cards. Most of us have wire lying around in our craft stash. Here are some funky ways to use wire in your scrapbook LOs and cards.

  1. Use wire to make a title or part of a title. In my LO ‘ Glee’ , I used craftwire in many ways. I made a part of the title with wire. You can attach wire to your Los with either superglue, gluedots, stitching or even weaving it through tiny holes in the paper. You can also fold it behind an element and stick it in place.

  2. Use thick craft wire to make embellishments to fit your themes. You can shape cars, arrows, houses…infact anything. The possibilities are limitless. In the LO ‘Inseparable’ I have used thick craft wire to make a cute car embellishment.

  3. Make coils to bind a small tag book or mini book. If you are lucky to have a bind-it-all, then maybe you can overlook this tip. But I will suggest you try this as it gives a different metallic texture and feel to the book. In the above photo, you can see how i have coiled the fluffy tagbook with blue metallic craft wire – Durable and fun!

  4. Use it to make springs. Use it to spring letters off your page or just as an accent. Let your imagination run wild!
  5. Make flowers and swirls. This taps into two huge current trends. How many of us have used blooms or swirls on our LOs or cards?!! Instead of using a paper bloom, try a wire one this time. Or layer it with some other blooms you already have in your stash. In my LO ‘Glee’, I have made swirls around the layered blooms and also as a photo corner (upper right hand corner).

I hope I have ignited your creative juices. Do leave me your comments and links to your wired creations.
